µfone; the First completely 'Plug and Play' Bluetooth Dongle for seamless enjoyment of Wireless Music and VoIP from your PC
BluePacket Communications Co, Ltd., a Bluetooth solutions provider, announced its µfone product today, the world's first wireless dongle for auto-switching between music and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calls such as Skype.
The BluePacket µfone dongle combines Music listening and VoIP talking in an elegant user-friendly way. It enables seamless interaction and compatibility for two distinctly separate activates; wireless voice conversation using VoIP through a PC broadband connection, and listening to stereo music from the PC through a wireless stereo headset. Through BluePacket's advanced technology, the user can freely use a Bluetooth headset to take VoIP calls (like Skype), as well as enjoy stereo music content from the same computer and headset, and do this without the wires that traditional require close proximity to a computer. ufone provides a unique music experience, convenient voice communications and un-tethered freedom, all in one plug and play package.
Unlike other dongles, what separates the BluePacket µfone dongle from the competition is the Plug & Play feature. This enables consumers to operate wireless VoIP and stereo music streaming effortlessly with no need to install and configure additional software. Simply plug in the dongle, and begin enjoying the freedom.
「The new ufone dongle provides the wireless convenience of Bluetooth in an easy-to-use package, making a complex technology accessible to mainstream consumers,」 said Robert Van Steenberg, Product Line Manager for Bluetooth Products at Broadcom Corporation. 「We’re pleased to be working with BluePacket on this product, which illustrates the growing usefulness of Bluetooth.」
The uncomplicated user scenario means the user simply needs to plug in the dongle to the USB port of a PC. The dongle will connect automatically with a discoverable Bluetooth stereo headset in a few moments. The system is then set to allow users to adjust volume, do play/pause/forward/backward controls of the music player program, and operate accept/hang-up action while switching to talking via VoIP (i.e. Skype), all through a simple click of the headset button.
