Silicon Dragon is bringing its well-known venture and tech forum series to Taipei for the first time, March 17, at a high-profile event held at Taipei 101, International Conference Center.
The program will assess the impact of Taiwan's new tech era and how it can propel the economy into new horizons. It will look at how leading entrepreneurs are raising money to create new businesses funded by an increasing number of venture capitalists, angel investors and crowd-funding sources.
The conference includes such prominent venture capitalists as Edith Yeung of 500 Startups, Melissa Guzy of Arbor Ventures, Norman Liang of WI Harper, York Chen of idTech Ventures and Thomas Tsao of Gobi Ventures. They are flying in from Silicon Valley, Hong Kong and Beijing to speak at the event, alongside a group of local Taiwan venture investors.
Startup founders featured at the event span such sectors as hardware, 3D printing and social commerce. Entrepreneurs will tell how their emerging businesses have successfully raised capital from leading investors.
The event is led by Silicon Dragon founder Rebecca Fannin, an expert on global innovation trends, Forbes contributor, and author of two well-received books about startups. Taiwan Startup Stadium is a key sponsor of the event and captain Anita Huang will be speaking at the event. KPMG is an additional lead sponsor.
The Silicon Dragon conference brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and leaders of the startup ecosystem for discussions on what's next in Taiwan's new tech markets. Participants will gain insights on how to raise financing and develop strategies to succeed in Taiwan as well as regionally and globally.
